ORBITATO

What it is

Orbitato is a multidisciplinary structure, active since October 2007, working from Pomerode, Santa Catarina/ Brazil, in fashion, design and architecture, with interest in social, cultural and environmental development.

It came out of the perception of geographic, functional and conceptual proximity between the textile/fashion industries and design industries – wooden goods, porcelain, glass, metalworking… - in the state of Santa Catarina, and from the observation of their common necessities related to creative capacity, technical knowledge and global thinking.

Comprehending that the present days market is global, and that only the innovative and competent enterprises are competitive, determines in an imperative manner the need professionals have to be finely qualified, in conditions to answer for the creation and development of products and their processes in social, cultural, and environmental terms.

Orbitato takes two kinds of actions: 1. Education, and 2. Accomplishment.

LOCATION

Pomerode – Located at Itajaí Valley, is easily reached through Joinville\'s or Navegantes\' airports, as well as from Florianópolis and Curitiba. The 25 thousand-inhabitant town – many of which are German immigrants – has a comfortable touristic infrastructure and is part of the Circuito Cicloturistico Vale Europeu (European Valley Bicycle-tourism Circuit), in the State of Santa Catarina.

It has a tangible and intangible historical heritage of great importance, including German cuisine and handcrafted quality beer.

We have chose Pomerode because of the coexistence of industry and preservation of culture and History, as well as the environment. Also, the variety of design, fashion and textile industries it houses is very rich.
