“To experience the industrial reality is very important, and that is why we participate in Campus Heimtextil”, says Petra Biggel, the student representing the university. There is a special project at Reutlingen University to prepare the students to Heimtextil. They work together for a collective result, with themes in common, and that is what I saw on exhibition. “At my school, there is a special interest in eco-projects. We think the world will depend on that, and that there is – or there will be soon – a great demand determined by needs, financial needs included, of solutions that work from the environmental point of view.” The quotation is by Petra Biggel, who tells that many of her colleagues expect to work in environmental interface areas. She recalls a friend who works with recycled fabrics, intended for use in interior design. Petra herself develops works with natural fibers, specially yarn, and she wants that to be the theme of her graduation project. She says that, mostly, students that graduate from her school start working in major companies and studying to get a master degree. After that they might think about opening up their own business. I also believe that the market shall surrender more and more to the environmental needs, and that a new and large field of work is opening up.

Vivenciar a realidade da indústria é muito importante, por isso participamos do Campus Heimtextil, conta a aluna Petra Biggel que está representando a universidade. Há um projeto especial na Reutlingen University, para preparar os estudantes para a Heimtextil, eles trabalham juntos, por um resultado coletivo, com temas comuns, é o que vi exposto.“Na minha escola há um interesse especial por eco-projetos. Pensamos que o mundo vai depender disso e que há, ou haverá em breve, uma demanda grande, determinada por necessidades, econômicas inclusive, de soluções corretas do ponto de vista ambiental.” A citação é de Petra Biggel, que conta que muitos de seus colegas tem expectativa de trabalhar em áreas de interface ambiental. Lembra de uma amiga que trabalha com tecidos reciclados destinados a design de interiores. Ela própria desenvolve trabalhos com fibras naturais, em especial lã, e quer fazer deste tema seu trabalho de conclusão do curso. Afirma ainda que as pessoas em geral saem da escola e vão trabalhar em grandes empresas e fazer mestrado. Depois disso é possível pensar em negócios próprios. Eu também acredito que o mercado deve cada vez mais se render as necessidades ambientais e que um novo grande campo de trabalho se abre.
